Description
ROYAL CANIN® Diabetic is a balanced and nutrient-rich recipe specially developed to help regulate blood glucose levels in adult cats with diabetes mellitus.
Glucose modulation
Glucose modulation means that food can have a direct influence on a cat’s blood glucose level. A suitable diet with a high protein content, low starch content and adapted fibre content can help to keep the rise in blood glucose levels after eating as low as possible.
High protein content
Healthy muscle mass is particularly important for cats with diabetes. With its high protein content, this recipe helps to build and maintain healthy muscle mass.
Low starch content
Starchy food increases the postprandial blood glucose response. This recipe with a reduced starch content supports the control of elevated postprandial blood glucose levels in cats with diabetes.
S/O Index
This food also creates a urinary environment that makes it more difficult for struvite and calcium oxalate stones to form.
Important note
This product is a veterinary diet from the ROYAL CANIN® Veterinary Health Nutrition range. It is therefore important that this food is only fed on the recommendation of a veterinary surgeon. This helps ensure that your pet receives exactly the food it needs. Any change of diet should be made carefully and gradually over a period of 7 to 10 days. Pay attention to the correct portion size, particularly when combining wet and dry food.
Suitable for mixed feeding
To cater for the individual preferences of all cats, ROYAL CANIN® Diabetic is also available as a dry food with crunchy kibbles.* Mixed feeding provides different textures, which can make the food more appealing and have a positive effect on consistent, predictable food intake. Wet food has a more intense aroma, and its moisture content helps to regulate your pet’s fluid balance. Dry food, on the other hand, is easier to portion and is good for the teeth.
